For local fishing in the Santa Monica, Long Beach, Catalina and San Clemente Islands. Through:
Turn off the lights, the party is over, the Fat Lady sang, and it’s just wait until next year for the Tuna and Dorado. Also with the turn in the weather, the big question is whether the local island Yellowtail will hang around? So far there have been no reports, and darn if there isn’t another storm on its way this weekend!
Most full day boats will now begin planning their winter maintenance, while some like the Constitution will make trips down the coast to Colonet, and other points south for Lingcod, Rockfish, and perhaps some Yellowtail?
Boats like the Freedom, Toronado, Fury, Thunderbird and Pacific Star have already begun scheduling 2-day and extended full day trips to San Nicolas, Santa Barbara, and San Clemente Islands for Freezer Specials. If you can get out in a good weather window, fall fishing for both deep water and shallow water Rockfish this time of year is often very rewarding.
Private boater reports are few and far between lately, and that reduces the pictures available for display.
