Thursday Recap Report-Weekend Possibilities:
For local fishing in the Santa Monica, Long Beach, Catalina and San Clemente Islands, with trips out of San Diego and Baja, Mexico.
With good weather on Saturday and for most of the week, and being a Holiday weekend, this provided numerous opportunities for scheduling lots of fishing. Locally the Sculpin and Bass remain the targeted species, with Halibut being the spice on the cake. Across the border there remains some outstanding fishing for Big Reds and Lingcod, mostly on multi day trips.

We had a fantastic 2.5 day trip on the Aztec, out of Seaforth Landing over the weekend. Limits of Reds complemented by combined limits of other Rockfish, Lingcod, Sheephead and Whitefish. Here are a couple of pictures from my report, to read the full report with lots more pictures click on this link;

This weekend and until Thursday, all local boats will mostly continue the process of targeting Sculpin in the morning, and concentrating on finding Bass on the structure in the afternoon. There are some boats which also schedule Halibut specials such as the Native Sun out of Long Beach, which caught 5 halibut and 18 Sculpin on their Wednesday, 02-22-12 trip.
