Most anglers were scared off by the vicious winds leading up to the weekend, consequently there were few weekend reports, and few Sport Boat trips made it out, as well.
The Pacific Voyager ran a 1.5-day trip south of the border on Saturday, 12-03-11 and the 14 anglers caught 58 Rockfish, 12 Lingcod and 70 Red Snapper.
On the local scene, There remains some decent Calico and Sand Bass fishing with the right conditions on certain days, as the Clemente on its ¾ day run on Tuesday, 12-06-11 had 80 mixed Bass, for only 14 anglers, while the 1/2 day boat City of Long Beach out of Long Beach Marina caught 38 mixed Bass for 10 anglers on Wednesday, 12-07-11. The ½ day boat Monte Carlo out of 22nd Street Landing caught 33 mixed Bass, for only 9 anglers on Monday, 12-05-11.Twilight fishing:
The Slammer out of Redondo Sportfishing ran a trip on Monday, 12-05-11, with 4 anglers catching 3 Sand Bass, 17 Rockfish, 2 Sculpin, 17 Lobster and 16 Rock Crab.In Santa Monica Bay
Private boater Dat fished with friends David and Dennis on Sunday, 12-04-11 and found some wide open fishing for Whitefish, Lingcod and Sheephead. Some pictures:
The ½ boat Redondo Special caught 2 Lingcod and 70 Red Snapper (limits), on their trip Wednesday, 12-07-11, for 7 anglers, while the ¾ day boat Tradition is out for re-powering.
The ½ day boat New Del Mar caught 21 Sheephead, 12 Whitefish, 222 Rockfish, 1 Lingcod and 205 Sculpin (limits), on their trip Saturday, 12-03-11, out of Marina Del Rey, for 43 anglers. The Spitfire caught 124 Rockfish, 7 Lingcod and 216 Rockcod on their trip Sunday, 12-04-11, for 34 anglers. The 3/4 boat Betty O caught 1 Lingcod and 60 Rockfish (limits), for 6 anglers on Sunday, 12-04-11.Newport Beach and Dana Point.
Private boater Brett fished on Sunday, 12-04-11 with friends targeting Halibut. They released one just short and kept this big guy weighing in at 15 pounds:
The Freelance ran a ¾ day trip out of Davey's Locker on Saturday, 11-26-11, with 38 anglers catching 1 Calico Bass, 5 Sand Bass, 66 Sculpin, 7 Perch and 1 Sargo. The Western Pride, out of Davey's Locker, fished Wednesday, 11-30-11, with 13 anglers catching 3 Sand Bass, 10 Sheephead, 33 Rockfish, 1 Lingcod, 3 Sculpin, 10 Perch, 3 Sargo, 16 Red Snapper and 1 Cabazon.
The ¾ day boat Patriot out of Newport Landing caught 58 Bocaccio (limits), 48 Rockfish, 20 Sculpin and 7 Red Snapper on their Saturday, 12-03-11, trip for 29 anglers.
The ½ day boat Sum Fun out of Dana Wharf caught 12 Calico Bass, 31 Sand Bass, 3 Sheephead, 24 Rockfish and 3 Sculpin on their Tuesday, 12-06-11, trip for 14 anglers. The ¾ day boat Clemente also out of Dana Wharf fished on Tuesday, 12-06-11, with 14 anglers catching 2 Halibut, 14 Calico Bass, 66 Sand Bass, 26 Sheephead, 1 Whitefish, 1 Rockfish, 7 Sculpin, 3 Red Snapper and 1 Cabazon.Long Beach and San Pedro

The Enterprise out of Long Beach Marina Landing caught 31 Sheephead, 8 Whitefish, 50 Bocaccio (limits), 122 Rockfish, 10 Sculpin, 25 Perch, 2 Sole and 78 Red Snapper for 25 anglers on their trip Saturday, 12-03-11.
The ¾ day Victory out of Pierpoint Landing caught 2 Calico Bass, 1 Sand Bass, 25 Sheephead, 3 Whitefish, 80 Rockfish and 1 Sculpin on their trip Wednesday, 12-07-11, with 14 anglers. The ½ day boat Southern Cal caught 14 Sand Bass, 8 Sheephead, 4 Whitefish, 2 Sculpin, 26 Perch and 1 Cabazon on their ½ day trip Saturday, 12-03-11, with 8 anglers.

The ½ day boat Monte Carlo out of 22nd Street Landing ran a morning trip on Wednesday, 12-07-11, and the 15 anglers caught 31 Calico Bass, 13 Sand Bass, 58 Sheephead, 42 Rockfish, 51 Perch and 3 Red Snapper. The ¾ day boat Sea Angler fished on Wednesday, 12-07-11, and the 15 anglers caught 150 Rockfish (limits), 31 Sculpin and 2025 Sand Dab. The IslandsCatalina/Santa Barbara Island!

The Pursuit out of 22nd Street Landing ran a 3/4 day trip to Catalina on Saturday, 12-03-11, and the 10 anglers caught 9 Sheephead, 3 Whitefish, 20 Bocaccio (limits), 50 Rockfish, 5 Sculpin, 15 Perch, 10 Sargo and 30 Red Snapper.
The ¾ day Sport King out of LA Harbor ran a trip on Monday, 12-05-11, with 9 anglers catching 2 Sheephead, 2 Whitefish, 18 Bocaccio (limits), 2 Lingcod, 36 Sculpin and 35 Red Snapper.San Clemente Island!
I fished with private boater Dave on Wednesday, 12-07-11, out of his slip in Newport Beach, with friends Jim, Jeff and Stan. With only a bit of breeze in the early morning, and reaching grease calm from 10am to 1pm, the weather was an unexpected delight. Fishing was somewhat slow, forcing Captain Dave to look hard in a number of areas on the backside of the Island to eventually end up with Limits of Rockfish, including 26 Reds, and 10 and 12 pound Lingcod, caught by angler Stan. The ¾ day boat San Diego ran a trip on Saturday, 12-03-11, with 13 anglers catching 6 Sheephead, 11 Whitefish and110 Rockfish.
The Indian is running full day Rockcod trips to the Finger Bank and Points south of the border. They had limits around on Wednesday, 11-30-11, with lots of Big Reds, some Lingcod and other assorted Rockfish. This weeks trips were cancelled due to lack of reservations.Weather
