Thursday Recap Report-Weekend Possibilities:
A Summary of local fishing from Santa Monica to Oceanside, including Catalina and San Clemente Islands, with fishing trips out of San Diego down to Baja, Mexico.
The Barracuda was very steady throughout the week in Long Beach, moving from the Huntington Flats on Friday to the Horseshoe Kelp on Sunday. Santa Monica Bay boats have had to come down to Long Beach for their shot at the Barracuda. The White Seabass Island bite remains slow, a few fish here and there. Also the Coastal Tankers attracted so much attention; this bite has also dwindled down to only a few fish being caught. Some rather large Halibut have been caught recently at the Domes and south of Dana Point.
The Coronado Islands and Rockpile down south have remained steady, with Yellowtail counts in the high teens most days. Still a few fish being caught at Catalina, with a few schools spotted at San Clemente Island as well as Santa Barbara Island.
The Bluefin Tuna zone has widened, and the
Shogun got into a nice school of biting Bluefin Tuna to 65 pounds at noon on Saturday, 06-02-12 on their 2nd day of their 8 day trip: Some pictures:

On day 3 the
Shogun remained in the same area and got into a ripper bite on Bluefin to 85 pounds:

A few Albacore are showing up in the counts offshore, as boats search for the Bluefin Tuna. The last few days offshore have been real nasty and conditions are expected to improve shortly and into the weekend. A number of 1.5 and multi day trips have been scheduled to target the Bluefin Tuna and Albacore offshore this weekend. Cross your fingers that this bite starts to heat up.
The

Hi Cory,
Great Roundup as usual. Nice to see all the tuna and yellowtail pics adding to the mix of local surface action and Rockfish bagging !!

Any action out of Morro Bay yet?
Don't follow Morro Bay unless the Tuna are biting, usually that does not occur until September.
