Thursday Recap Report-Weekend Possibilities:
A Summary of local fishing from Santa Monica to Oceanside, including Catalina and San Clemente Islands, with fishing trips out of San Diego down to Baja, Mexico.
The San Clemente Island Yellowtail bit good on Sunday, then the weather turned, and the bite became a slow pick.
Sand Bass and Calico Bass fishing is up and down, with good counts on selected days and boats. The Long Beach Barracuda bite turned into a run and gun style of fishing, chasing schools of Barracuda off the diving birds.
The White Seabass Island bite improved on Sunday, and then faded out The Coastal Tanker bite on the White Seabass has all but died, with only a few fish caught. There were also fewer reports of Halibut being caught along the coast. The weather is keeping a lot of anglers off the water, although it was nice a few days during the week. Water temps declined 8 to 10 degrees locally at one point.
Vick Sommers with possible World Record 66 pound Coastal Tanker White Seabass caught on 8 pound test line:

The

The offshore scene is brutal, suffering from 20 to 25 knot winds most of the week, with little let up in sight this weekend. If you could find a kelp paddy holding Yellowtail in the high seas, they caught 50 to 100 Yellowtail, with only a handful of Bluefin Tuna mixed in. Most fish are being caught from 100 to 120 miles south of the border, way out west.

All comments and suggestions welcomed!
WeatherThe weather forecast for both Saturday and Sunday locally looks to be fishable in the morning, breezy in the afternoon, the offshore scene calls for it to be really windy, as well as at the Islands . Always check the latest forecast before leaving the dock.
