Thursday Recap Report-Weekend Possibilities:
A Summary of local fishing from Santa Monica to Oceanside, including Catalina and San Clemente Islands, with fishing trips out of San Diego down to Baja, Mexico.
There were some excellent last chance Rockcod fishing, with big Lingcod, Sheephead, Whitefish and Reds caught. Now the next two months will be spent by most local boats catching Sculpin and Bass, with an occasional Halibut mixed in. There are still a few signs of Yellowtail
, making this an interesting destination with some school size White Seabass
on the prowl.
Of course there is always Mexico to satisfy your craving for a fish taco. Several boats have scheduled 1.5 or longer Freezer Specials this weekend and beyond. For example:
out of San Diego had an excellent 2.5 day trip over the weekend, south of the border. They managed 147 Lingcod, a Cow Cod and limits of Rockfish, Sheephead and Whitefish.
Both the El Dorado

and the Toronado

scheduled trips over the weekend fishing the shallow water at San Nicolas Island
and Monday and Tuesday with great success:
