Thursday Recap Report-Weekend Possibilities:
A Summary of local fishing from Santa Monica to Oceanside, including Catalina and San Clemente Islands, with fishing trips out of San Diego down to Baja, Mexico.

There was a good attendance to the Del Mar portion of the annual Fred Hall show last week as far as I heard? Unfortunately I was unable to make it down there. If you did attend, let me know about your experience?

With both breezy and/or rainy conditions most of the week, the reports from private boaters were MIA.

Despite unfriendly weather conditions most of the week the San Diego managed to catch 11 Yellowtail on their Thursday, 04-03-14 trip to the Coronado Islands. Word is that water temps have dropped 2 to 4 degrees in most areas, not a favorable scenario. Fortunately above average day time temperatures are around the corner, which we all hope will return the seas to where they were a week ago?

I did not see any Barracuda in the counts, but there were some sightings of Barracuda south of the border. It is always a boost in excitement when the annual migration of these fun to fish for critters show up along the coast.

The San Diego caught 15 Yellowtail on their Saturday trip, 03-29-14:

The Yellowtail did not return to Ensenada this week, and there were no further reports of Yellowtail being caught in San Quintin either, most likely due to weather conditions?

Locally and all along the coast and up north there remains some excellent fishing for Reds, Lingcod, Sheephead and Whitefish.

Quotes:

That 5.2 Earthquake Friday night was more powerful at our home in Diamond Bar than I can remember some bigger ones in the past? We had plaster fall off the walls, several cracks in the ceiling and bathroom tile, etc. and a few broken glass items, nothing like this however, thank goodness:

I don't want to be around when a bigger one hits, yikes?

Weather

The weather forecast for Saturday is for breezy conditions and rather large swells at 5 to 6 feet. Sunday looks to be a bit better. Always check the latest forecast before leaving the dock.
