Albacore Migration
This is a great article from albacore tagging showing where these fish migrate and when. Using the extensive information in the article and my vast array of engineering computers, I calculate the first albacore will be caught by a SD sport boat on May Day (May 5).

If the albacore show up off of SoCal in decent numbers, it is the boats that will finally hit the Lotto...

Let's keep this around until May 5th, and HOPE that your prediction is true. I know we all hope it is.

re: Albacore Migration
I just missed the MegaLotto by 5 numbers, but I'm sure the May 5 number is still good. Anyone else want to post their calculations and predictions? Best way to find the albacore will be to call the people with the tracking tags and just ask them. How hard can it be?

How hard? Like trying to make a gold brick withdrawl from Ft. Knox?
If we're just talking sport boat caught.......
Out of Sandy Eggo? Not before July 1st.
Central Coast? Mid August, maybe.

OK so I was wrong. Hopefully sometime in June maybe? I'm on the Indie Seeker 8 day June 17, so it would be nice to have some white tune in the bag on the trip.

We got them pretty good in the middle of June 2004, ‘eh, Fishy? I think Dena took the jackpot with a longfin that went over 47 Lbs. I got edged out of third place with this one that went a few ounces over 42 Lbs. Maiden voyage of The Sea Scouts, too! We got them on the way down and coming back. About 200 miles down the line.
