The Red Sox - My Theory
There must be a drinking fountain at Fenway that is near the owners box and over the years most owners and some managers and few coaches drink from this fountain.
I can't explain the Nomar trade any better. Are they a better team after trading away a franchise player destined for the hall of fame?
I don't know but if they don't win the pennant, then Epstein and Francona should be fired and John Henry should apologize to Boston.

RE: The Red Sox - My Theory
shoots, Epstein will be a great GM when it all settles (he already is)- Nomahh wanted out, for good reason, and they would have lost him after the season anyway- Cabrera has a great glove, and although his bat has been missing, he's good and the new scene at Fenway should get him going. Montreal is a death trap right about now, glad they are moving on to DC- I think the biggest f*&^ up was by the Dodgers, glad I'm not a Dodger fan. Stoked the angels didn't cave and give up the farm for the Unit, another nice outing by Colon today. Texas is fading, it's a long way off but I think the Angels and A's will both make the playoffs, Bosox might stay home this year. Can't argue their moves, though- I can't spell it, but they got a 1B with a great glove to help out their paltry defense, and he's a clutch hitter as well- Dave Roberts, whatever-

Bottom Line
They're cursed! What else is there to explain?
Anyway, Nomar stopped caring a long time ago because of the A-Rod fiasco. I read he sat down an important game against the Yankees when I hear he could have played. They won't fire Epstein, but why they hired a re-tread like Francona is beyond me (Did Schilling want him?). Also, R. Johnson must not be that close to this old buddy Schilling, because he said no way to a trade to Boston, I guess he can see they are going nowhere too.

RE: The Red Sox - My Theory
I think this deal is stupid and did not address anything the team actually needed. Any marginal improvement in defense will be greatly outweighed by the loss of Nomar's offense which has been very good this year. Cabrera is an average offensive player at best, and Mientkweicz is not good with the bat. They should have gotten pitching.

RE: The Red Sox - My Theory
Why do you think getting some players for a guy who is going to split anyway as a free agent, a bad deal? Better to get something now than get nothing at all. Not like the NBA where you can have a sign and trade deal. You know Nomar was pissed about the A-rod thing and I said before, stopped caring about being a BoSox.
BTW, how would an infield with Nomar at second, Jeter at short, and A-rod at third look?
