Tuesday 7-3 with Big Dave
Ran down to San Diego with my golfin bud , big Dave . Got some ugly dines from Ev bros, and headed to the islands. Sloppy goin with some swell and wind chop . Fished at the middle grounds in 66 degree blue water for a very slow pic. Lots of bait around but not much happening. Only a few other boats around the area-no sporties .
Finally about 8:30 I got hooked up on the right kind !!! Only problem was I couldnt stop the fish on 20# line. ROCKED !! 10 min later same thing happens !! Damn !!! Dave gets hammered on 20 and gets smoked !! Change to heaver gear is in order !! Right at high tide we both get ripped and its game on . Daves fish comes unhooked but I finally land our first Yellow of the year !!! Hooray !! got home about 6:30pm cleaned the boat and then sliced some sushimi with a glass of wine !! YUM
P.S. Dont bring a knife to a gun fight !!

Looks and sounds to me like "elderly abuse"! Way to punish your abuser. Eating him is the ultimate in "in your face" payback!! LMBO
Congrats Lal buddy, on your first 'Tail of the year. I'm sure more will suffer the same fate, as the summer progresses. Hopefully, I'll be invited along once or twice, to help out in the "boat counts" department.
BTW- thanks for the info yesterday. We found the Slime sticks right where you said, and we nailed them in the afternoon.
I saw Ronnie on his usual ride, but he didn't notice us. I didn't want to get too close, besides, we were hammering fish, and didn't go for the drive-by. All the party boats were full, A$$holes to elbows.
I'm so happy TAXFREE has recovered from it's prison experience.

Hi TAXFREE,
Dang it ! Wish you had come by to say hello and I could get an on-the-water-shot of you guys too!! Both skippers are cool with the folks I know and have NOOOOO problem with them dropping by to say hello ......when I'm on the boat. They know the PBer's I call buddies such as yourself, the Ducky, Tunavic1, and a few others would know the drill and use good judgement in approaching.
Glad you guys had a great trip today (07/25) and some yellows !!
