A" Lucky Bird" stops in to say Hi

Regina an I went out this weekend to fish for White Sea Bass in our Local waters and got Lucky!!! Fishing the Kelp line in 60 ft of water with live squid from the Newport Bait receiver. We put the Candy to good use to score a 55 lb. Biscit around 10 pm. We were also greeted by a Lucky Yellow bird who stopped in to say Hi. Good fishing with many Calico and Sandbass which all released except 3 sandys...Nice way to start the season...Good luck Tim

Hi scubasmith,

Nice goin' on that really big ol' fishy. So cool to know that fish of this quality can still be caught locally .... when the stars are properly aligned !!

Thanks,

tsurikichi

re: A" Lucky Bird" stops in to say Hi

Thanks everyone for your comments....There are some Big fish around in our local waters. If your going to fish the kelp lines, use some stuff that will give you a chance to pull them out of the weeds. I was using 65 lb. braid and a 60 lb. top shot. This fish came up half way out of the water and shook his head twice, and made some good long runs before I started getting any line back...Pretty exciting fishing in the Dark with Regina holding a flash light in one hand and a gaff in the other waiting to see what came up from the depths. Sure was nice to see the "Right Kind" Good Times Tim

Hey Tim,
Nice going on the HUGE ghost. I heard the rods were going off that night. Glad you were able to get it on board.

NICE ONE...hey that yellow bird is a good sign from the south!!!

We got up 2nd day at Benitos on BigGame 90 and the whole upper
and lower deck, bunkrooms, even the heads filled with 100's of
those yellow finches. Up on the tackle shelfs, insane...boy they
sure cleaned every scrap and fish scale off the boat. LOL
