MDR to Cabo Nov 7
My Buddy decided to take his boat to Cabo for the winter, and my wife decided I should go , with Capt Mike along it was all good to go, had a few problems on the way but had them fixed in Ensenada by Spike ( Corral ), and off we go, Ended up at Cedros on Monday morning with screaming reels of nice grade Yellowtail, a few nice fat Calicos and a small Black Seabass, sleepted and fueled at turtle that evening loaded up on bait and traded shirts for lobsters not so bad. On Tuesday we fished a few high spots for more Yellowtail and Big Calicos, later that morning we decided to put the boat to work and ran 22k to look for Tuna, around 1pm out of the corner of my eye I spotted some action, ended up being a wild group of Birds and dolphins and 25-40lb Yellowfins, we had quads and triples going off, that was pretty cool. so the rest of the day we caught these Tuna, Wednesday was much of the same Tuna and a few Dorados, and a Wahooo, No Marlins, The water Averaged between 72-77.7 it never got warming then that, Lots of Small Marlin were being caught off Santa Maria ( I think ), we saw 1 Big Blue. ended up in Cabo early Thursday and jumped on plane and was home by 7pm, Good trip, lots of Fishing, Eating and Drinking,

Was "Captain Mike" the one and only Mike Baxter, formerly of the Wild Wave and Royal Star?
He told me he was doing a Cabo yacht run.

Arujo is a grandmaster...and a patient teacher. A trip to Cabo with him must be like a college course in fishing - hope you leaned a lot - sounds like you all had a great time.

Sweet report with the Master Arujo! Great guy!! I remember those Langosta pangaderos flying at us at full speed with the guy on the bow holding up the bugs. They wanted beer, water and cigaretts from us! 6 pack of each and a pack of smokes and we got 16 bugs from them.....seemed like a decent trade at the time! Glad you guys had a good trip! Did you make the trek into the town at Turtle? It is pretty cool to see!
