14, 209, and the 181...dodos and yellows 9/1/2012
Launched out of Dana Point around 5:30 and made our way in snotty conditions toward the 14. A few miles outside the harbor, my bait pump starts acting up. Without going into details, we managed to save enough bait to salvage our day. Fished the 14 then downhill to the 209, and out to the 181.
Due to the mixed up conditions, it was difficult to spot em today, but we managed to find 3 holding and ended up with 3 dodos and 2 yellows. We could of easily doubled our score with more bait, but it is what it is. Our final yellow was on a dead sardine slow trolled on a small kelp within 10 miles of Dana Point Harbor.
Good luck out there and hopefully the conditions improve real soon.

Great job in tough conditions Jeff...,
I hope things lay down enough for me to get out & do a run like that before the seasons over. Thanks for the report.

Dalton, glad you were able to salvage your day without having good bait. Most people just roll over and give up. Nice Job ! good to see you got a nice Yellowtail. Its been almost pure Dorado for me this year. But dont get me wrong, Im not complaining..LOL I love the excitement in your photo ...Good Times Tim
