Legend 1.5 day 10/2/12 WFO Yellowfin!
Fished The Legend out of Seaforth landing on a 1.5 day on 10/2/12. Got home at 3 a.m. this morning.
We fished about 80 miles out, started the day on a few paddys with a slow but steady pick of schoolie yellowfin, rat yellows and a dorado's. Around noon we pulled up on a paddy and all hell broke lose. Wide open Yellowfin and good grade Dorado for over an 2 hours. We plugged the boat with limits in about 90 minutes. The pics say it all. We came back early, the weather got better and better. Jackpot fish was a toad Dorado estimated at around 35 lbs. Nice old guy about 60 y/o and 5 feet maybe 100lbs wet landed the JP dodo. Funnier then hell, when we asked him to hold it up for picks and the Dodo wiggled and wrestled the guy to the deck. Classic! I got my limits on YFT, caught a nice Dodo, lost a really nice one at the boat and released tons of rat yellows...
No BFT or Albies, but that wide open bite made the trip. We got back to Seaforth around midnight.
I can't say enough about Captain Mike and the crew. These guys were super cool, super helpful and I'm a big fan. Met some of the coolest guys, quite a few local dudes who were friendly and helpful. Made me feel right at home. This is my first/last trip for the year and I am super stoked on the boat. Go now....it's wideopen

Newby question...
I see some boats advertise quickly refrigerating the catch. What's a safe time to keep fish on desk without being cooled/refrigerated/iced?

Depends on how long the bite lasts...
As far as safe, I think they can lay out all day. Best I think less then an hour.
Great thing about the Legend is they have a chute on the side of the bait tank to the refrigerated hold so they can drop fish pretty much as fast as they catch them. Great overnight boat.

Nice job on the fish and on releasing the rat yellows so someone else can catch them later.
