I just checked out the latest Uni shot and it's looking real. Combo Tropical/N > thing. See my last post for the latest from NWS.

Old shitt. It may dump. Per NWS's LONG TERM Product: (SUN NIGHT-THURS)...

NEXT SYSTEM LOOKS A LITTLE MORE ROBUST FOR OUR AREA MONDAY NIGHT AND TUESDAY. LONG RANGE MODELS DO SEEM TO BE IN FAIRLY GOOD AGREEMENT WITH BRINGING A SHARP UPPER LEVEL TROUGH STRETCHING SOUTH TO BELOW 30N THROUGH SOCAL TUESDAY. THIS TROUGH WILL TAP THE HIGH PRECIPITABLE WATER CONTENT THAT IS PERCOLATING BETWEEN 20N AND 30N AROUND THE HAWAIIAN ISLANDS AND DIRECT THE PLUME OVER SOCAL. IN ADVANCE OF THE TROUGH...A COUPLED UPPER LEVEL JET STRUCTURE WILL PROVIDE EXCELLENT DIVERGENCE ALOFT...AND FLOW AT LOWER LEVELS HAS A STRONG SOUTHERLY COMPONENT.

SO IT SEEMS THE INGREDIENTS ARE THERE FOR A HEAVY RAIN EPISODE
MONDAY NIGHT AND TUESDAY. RIGHT NOW...MODELS ARE MOVING THE SYSTEM
THROUGH FAIRLY QUICKLY...SO THIS WILL KEEP RAINFALL TOTALS DOWN. OF
COURSE...THIS EVENT IS STILL 5 DAYS AWAY AND THINGS COULD
CHANGE...BUT IT BEARS MONITORING CLOSELY. GENERAL ONE INCH RAINFALL
AMOUNTS ARE A GOOD POSSIBILITY WITH HIGHER AMOUNTS IN THE MOUNTAINS.
SNOWFALL SHOULD BE LIMITED TO THE HIGHER MOUNTAINS...GENERALLY ABOVE
6500 FEET.

SHARP CUT-OFF TO THE STEADY RAIN AS THE FRONT MOVES THROUGH
TUESDAY...BUT SCATTERED SHOWERS SHOULD RETURN TO THE AREA AS THE
CORE OF THE UPPER LEVEL TROUGH PASSES THROUGH TUESDAY NIGHT. AFTER
THAT...WED WILL BE COOL IN THE POLAR PACIFIC AIRMASS LEFT
BEHIND...BUT HEIGHTS/THICNKESSES RISE QUICKLY BY THURSDAY...BRINGING
TEMPS BACK TO NEAR NORMAL LEVELS.

Who f'd up Saturday?

What the hell happened to Saturday's forecast? Last time I looked, it was light and variable. Now it's 10-20 in the afternoon, increasing to 15-25 in the evening.

Well fooey. We're launching anyways. May be a short one.

RE: Don't Uncover Your Boat Yet

It seems to be working on this end TJ. What's in the works on your end? Salmon and Rockfish soon? It's all about boat work up here. I'm hoping we have something to chase offshore. I hear those ice bergs are melting and may become a nav hazard soon. :)

RE: Don't Uncover Your Boat Yet

Its working now. Not sure what the heck was going on. Gearing up for butts and wsb at the moment. Waiting for the weather to cooperate. No salmon for me. Not really into it. I love salmon season. The islands are empty! :)

RE: Don't Uncover Your Boat Yet

Thanks for this link. How do we get for the Long Beach - Catalina zone. Can you give us the link that we can pick different areas from?

Thanks again,

1 to 3-inches

UPDATE for 3pm Sat.

THE LATEST MODEL GUIDANCE SHOWS A MORE COHESIVE SLOWER
MOVING TROUGH LIKELY TO STRIKE THE CENTRAL COAST MONDAY NIGHT WITH
MODERATE TO HEAVY RAIN BY TUESDAY MORNING. THE FOCUS OF THE HEAVY
RAIN SHIFTS TO THE SOUTHERN PORTIONS OF THE FORECAST AREA LATE
TUESDAY AND TUESDAY NIGHT. FACTORS CONTRIBUTING TO THE POSSIBILITY
OF HEAVY RAIN INCLUDE GOOD SOUTHERLY FLOW FOR OROGRAPHIC ENHANCEMENT
ON THE SOUTHERN SLOPES OF THE MOUNTAINS...AND AN EXPECTED PLUME OF
MOIST AIR WITH PRECIPITABLE WATER VALUES IN EXCESS OF 1 INCH.
AMOUNTS WILL RANGE FROM 1 TO 3 INCHES WITH THE HIGHEST AMOUNTS ON
SOUTH FACING SLOPES OF THE MOUNTAINS. THE SNOW LEVEL WILL LOWER TO 5
KFT WITH THE ARRIVAL OF THE COLD AIR ASSOCIATED WITH THE TROUGH ON
TUESDAY NIGHT. DECENT SNOWFALL OF PERHAPS 6 TO 12 INCHES IS POSSIBLE
AT THE RESORT LEVELS BY WEDNESDAY. EXACT AMOUNTS ARE DIFFICULT TO
ESTIMATE THIS EARLY IN THE GAME. AFTER SCATTERED SHOWERS LINGER INTO
WEDNESDAY...MAINLY ON THE NORTH FACING SLOES OF THE
MOUNTAINS...SKIES WILL CLEAR OUT AND THE REMAINDER OF THE UPCOMING
WEEK WILL BE MOSTLY CLEAR WITH MILD TEMPERATURES AND DRY CONDITIONS.
