Driving to work this morning the news reported a 16 foot Aluminum
boat went down in the Catalina Channel. The Captain had enough
time to shoot off a flare that was seen by an airplane overhead.
The news stated he clung to the boat until he was rescued. He was
suffering from hypothermia when he was picked up.

ANYONE have any further information on this?

It was on the TV news last night. Same info except they said it was a 15' boat. Said the boat capsized. And, it sounded like it was after sundown.

John - you must listen to KNX huh? I heard the guy was on his way back from Catalina . . . I dunno, it just makes me nervous thinking about a 15', or a 16' anyting out that far.

Aluminum boat capsized about 3 miles from the Long Beach Harbor. Life Guards responded first and picked the victim out of the water. He was lucky to survive, should have never been out their in the small aluminum boat in those sea conditions. A chem light was placed by USCG on the capsized boat to warn boaters. I believe VA picked up the boat and towed it back in, with bill in hand.

Jim?

If you're talking about Jim Day, well he's fine.
I spoke with him this morning, it's not him.

YEP, when the various FM knucklehead radio bits get out of control . .
Also, I want to know what's happening with traffic, both coming to work and going home from work.
