Well Amigos, this is the kind of newsflash we hate. It has come to our attention over the last several days that as of September 7th, 2008, Alaska Air will be discontinuing its service from Los Angeles to La Paz, Mexico. We have been told that this decision has something to do with the MD-80?s that they are using for this route. Pending U.S. and Mexican Government approval, Horizon Air will be assuming service previously flown by Alaska (albeit with planes that accommodate 40% less passengers). As of now, there is no official time frame on this process, and they are not taking reservations. We were also informed recently that Delta is temporarily suspending its service from Los Angeles to La Paz on August 18th, 2008. Service will resume on October 1st with seasonal variations. A fluid situation probably, and Jonathan will pass on what he can in the next report. All Tailhunter clients will continue to receive updates via email. Here is the Alaska Airline link where their current "official" word is hidden/located along with other route changes including Loreto, Zihuatenejo, Mazatlan and Cancun. http://www.alaskasworld.com/newsroom/asnews/asstories/AS_20080520_130637.asp And the winds have calmed down and the fish are on a tear here?? Jilly
