anyone know this guy?

I took some clients out on an overnighter fishing and diving last week. At the last minute I decided I'd stop by the Ventura bait dock for some sardines and frozen squid. As I was pulling up to the dock the bait attendant ran out from the store and yelled "what did you pay for that vessel assist whore"?! I thought: this guy is either giving me a hard time or has a lot of nerve to say this in front of my customers who are about to spend the next 24 hours on my boat. He continued about how he see's ACBs being towed into the harbor on a regular basis and to be very cautious about swamping and sinking. "Hope you have good insurance!" "Better ask for an extended warranty." "ACB doesn't know how to build a solid boat anymore." For about 5 minutes he tore me and the boat up in front of my group with them looking at me very confused about the situation, how embarassing! I was in such shock that it took me a minute to realize that he wasn't just kidding and I was right on the edge of throwing this guy into the receiver, closing the lid and leaving but I wasn't sure that would leave a good impression with my group.

I don't make a living at this yet but I'd like to someday and this is a serious setback considering I rely on word of mouth to meet new clients. I left thinking he must have a genuine hate for ACB? Does anyone know the workers at the Ventura receiver, this guy has dark hair, a mustache and seems to lack class and common decency, he may even be "boat challenged". In the future I'd like to purchase bait in Ventura without worrying about who's working that night.

I'm truly sorry for the way Mark treated you infront of your friends.

Honestly, I am getting sick and tired of how people around here can't keep their mouths shut and their business to themselves. Mark knew my boat didn't sink, and he also knew that it wasn't going to.

I am very shocked to read what you wrote.

If it is any consoulation, my business will not be running out of there anymore. For them do have an employee who downtalks my boat, is downtalking my operation. I put plenty of hard earned money this season into their pockets, and this is just another indirect stab in the back out of the blue for me. This is intolerable behavior.

Prevailer is a perfect example of how bouyant ACB's are. When my pumps died while I was sleeping, over a 6 hour period, she took on an estimated 4500 gallons of sea water. and the only reasons this occured was because 1, a ziplock bag clogged the scupper, not allowing enough drainage off the deck, and 2, the battery that powered my bilge pump failed. My deck design was also off the old Jig form, which put the deck lower to the water. This was the first prototype extreme with deisel power. ACB knew from sea trials with my boat, that some improvements would be made for the next ones down the line, like yours.

It truly amazes me how certain people here like to twist it into their own words, to either directly try and make me and my operation look bad, or get some kind of thrill out of bashing me. I'm DAMN sick and tired of this.

If Mark knew 1/4th of what he thinks he does, he would have said, "Gee, another guy I know who has a boat like that somehow flooded his recently and that sucker wouldn't go down!"

I know Kurt and Sue, and I don't think they will be too happy to know about this.

I am so amazed at how people love to kick me while I'm down.

Also, let me send a warning to a certain person who posted in this thread, and you know who you are..The next time you squid someone's truck, and cut the brakeline on their trailer, make sure nobody sees you do it. Why don't you just leave me and my business alone pal, I have never done a single thing to you...

I don't know you...but I hate hearing about the chit happening to you or anyone else like you stated. I hear you about going to AK. I've been fishing in the Kenai peninsula and it's great. I hope to save and buy a summer place their sometime in the near future. Please let us know if you go to AK and where you are going. I would like to hook up and wet a line.
