Kids of Marines Reel in the Big Ones!

Hi folks, Bluewater Jon Schwartz here. My 2nd & 3rd grade class went on a fishing trip and lucked out with 20 big barracuda for 18 kids! (released) The trip was paid for by Friends of Rollo, a San Diego based non-profit group that pays for fishing trips for kids in need of special attention. These kids' dads have been gone much of the past 7 years on deployment, so they more than qualify.
The trip was a TOTAL blast. Most of the kids had never even been on a boat before. We did a lot of marine science prior to the trip so the trip would be educational, as well as fun. Here are some pics from our grand adventure: http://bp1.blogg] If you want to read the whole story, click on this link and then click on the BLOG section Fishing News:Class Fishing Trip Thanks and take care, Jon Schwartz bluewaterjon.com

Mike/Blackfish,
I know you would have been there if you could have. You would have had a blast! At first I thought we'd get skunked, as I mentioned in the full story, but that second stop, and all the stops after that, were just heaven for these kids. Cool, too, since a kid's first fishing trip can have a lasting impression, for good or for bad.
Take care,
Jon
