I will be heading up to Yosemite and on Hwy 41 past Fresno, just outside of Oakhurst is Bass Lake. Have any of you been there and fished there? What type(s) of fish are there (besides bass!). I will be fishing from shore, so is there any good spots around the lake?

I hope you are planning on visiting Yosemite National Park soon. The run off from the snow pack is most likely at its peak now. So this is the best time to see Yosemite's waterfalls. Although I have lived not far from Bass Lake. The better part of 30 years I have never fished there. I do know you can catch rainbow trout, blue gill, bass, kokanee salmon, and catfish. I prefer other locations to fish. Bass Lake is a bit cloudy and has more boat traffic compared to other nearby lakes and streams. They stock many lakes and streams in this area with trout. You may have better luck at these sites. Since you are fishing from shore.

Thanks Mojo, I am currently in Yosemite. They no longer plant trout in the Merced River, so fishing is bad. I inquired about Bass Lake since it was on the way to and from yosemite. Thanks again for your suggestions.
