Yesterday afternoon a helo from boatpix.com took some pics of us.
I went to the website this morning and they want a CC# and all my info before I can even see the pics. They claim they will only charge for the pics I buy (pics not returned to them in 10 days).
Has anyone used this service before? Filling in this form without any product to view has me thinking twice before hitting the "submit" key.
Thanks
Scott

Yes, I used them 4 or 5 years ago. They shot my old boat (Skipjack 30') when I was running at cruise in Long Beach. Flew by 3 times and I saw the boatpix.com sign on the helo so I went to the site. I had the same reservations you did but went ahead and complied with instructions. They sent the pics and at the end I was only charged for what I kept. Everything was legit and on the up & up. Pics were beautiful. Too bad I sold the boat LOL!!

One thing for sure about their service - It's expensive!!!!!!!!!!

Same thing happened to me. They sent the pics with a note that said if I didnt return them within something like 10 days I would be charged 500.00 for all of the photos, WTF?? They were good but not that good ,so I snapped a couple hi res photos of them and sent them back. I would of bought them for 100 or so but I guess they would rather trrow them away.

Heard good things about them as well. Was on my friends Shamrock just outside Newport Harbor when they flew over. Tried looking them up to find the never ending form to fill out. never saw a pic. Oh well.

Thanks for the work the other weekend!

They have been around a long time. I think they may have a sliding scale. I have heard of
packages arriving at $2000. Maybe they look at your ride and decide how much you pride
and joy is worth to you. :) Cost a lot to fly a decent aircraft and they charge by the hour meter
which runs during warm up, flight, and cool down. They probably get a lot sent back, but Its
hard to hold a beautiful photo of your baby and say, I don't want it. That is part of their business model. I have seen some good shots of theirs.
