Anyone wanna chime in on what is working on Catalina WSB? Use 30# or 40#? Better action on dropped glow jig w/ pinned squid or hook/sinker rig? Etc...

I'm no expert, but last weekend I got one on 30# / sliding egg. I was also soaking a jig loaded up with squid on 40# but didn't get picked up.

You just got to be in the right place at the right time, WSB are stupid!
Case in point, my Brah-in-law was trying to catch macks for bait anchored in Avalon, his second cast, 25# White Seabass on 12# test and a Kastmaster! 3rd cast a much bigger ghost but it broke off the 12# at color! He was pissed! That was his only Kastmaster, LOL!

Use as light of line as you dare! 25 lb would be a good choice, we got one on a white leadhead with live squid. They will eat anything when they are chewing. Right place, right conditions = WSB. Good luck

My "go to" rig is a Calcutta 400TE spooled w/ spectra and a 4' 50lb FC leader and a light, white leadhead w/ big hook. It's incredibly successful when fishing anything other than the dropper loop.(It's too short a leader for droppers)
