Catalina 1-21/1-22 bait and fish?

Looks like we have a break in the swell this weekend. Anyone else heading over to Catalina? Iâ??m taking the Horndog out Saturday afternoon with a couple of friends to see if we can get into some of this squid. Maybe some hooping, but definitely some fishing and just plain all around good fun.

Iâ??ve been working on the boat for so long now I just have to get it out on the water. I have finally got my hydraulic lines hooked up for my top station and autopilot. Just finished my new cutting board equipped with drink holder and all. With a little insight and info from Mark Wisch I am almost done with a battery compartment in my Parker that will be the home of 4 six volt golf cart batteries. Waiting for the weather to warm up a little so I can finish up the fiberglass work. BTW thanks to the Allcoaster that pointed me to bestboatwire.com. I saved half on the wire, breakers and switches I purchased.

I heard Mark on the radio last Saturday. He is going to have his Parker at the Fred Hall show in March. Mark was gracious enough to take me down and show me some things on the boat and I would recommend every small boat owner check it out at the show. He has tons of great ideas and he has set his boat up very well.

Anyway lets go get some squid. Give me a shout, I'll be on 72

Catalina might be an option for me Saturday.
I'm watching the wind, swells, and potential for rain.
Right now it looks good.
Things can change quickly though.

I'd prefer to stay local and find some Halibut though.

John,

I'm thinking of getting the squid (for food, freezer and bait), and with the amount of bait and not hearing much of the way of a bite, unless conditions look good I may come back over and fish PV or something.

Of course it's all weather permitting.

Horndog,

We will be over there this weekend, but not sure what day as of yet. BTW, your Parker looks SWEEEEEEEEET! Great job on the upgrades!!!
John,
Thinking of heading out myself on the "Double-D". The last trip on my boat has been some time. Don't know if I'm going to make the run to Cat., but maybe SMB (north end). Let's keep an eye on the weather, and see what happens. Call me.
Thanks Mike. Itâ??s that labor of love thing you know. Hope to meet you out on the water. Be nice if the weather would cooperate for a change.

Derek, if I wasnâ??t going crazy looking at my boat in the driveway Iâ??d love to help you break in the new 582. Thatâ??s a sweet machine. Iâ??ll call you later in the week.
