Tried our luck at the White Seabass action Saturday morning with not much love. Arrived there about 5:30am with some nice squid from Long Beach Bait. Action seemed to be pretty slow for everyone out there. We got a few quality bites but all were farmed out. After a few hours, decided to drift around and caught (and released) this great Black Seabass. The cell phone pictures don't do it justice. Would have been nice to weigh him but we just let the old boy go about his life. Beautiful day though and we still managed to bring home a couple nice Calicos. Also saw some cool albino Risso's dolphins working the channel on the way back. Nice day to be out.

In the 70s and 80s at about 10:00AM i used to drop a nice BSB rig off the bow when they were legal and caught many at San Clemente Is. I hope their numbers come back because it was like hauling up 80lbs. of dead weight and good eating.
