ok, this is a definite one for the BS board...I have tried multiple times, in multiple different ways to get a map of the Catalina Island MPAs..I have all the coordinates, but am unable to open either the JPEG or the PDF of the actual map from the DFG site...I reloaded the Adobe reader...nothing...anybody have any advice, or an alternate source for a MPA map for Catalina?

It's called 'Catalina' Map, Chart, & Guide.
It's a fold-out map 24 by 40 inches, waterproof.

The laminated one has 3 of the 6 marked.
All 6 have wording.

The fold out one has all 6 mapped out and wording.
I carry them both.
They serve both dual and separate purposes.

You can probably get both for 20-25 dollars.
IMO it's money very well spent.

BTW, the board name is now 'General'.
