Congratulations on the WSB and a great day on the water...
I was with the family over Memorial Weekend with the family. I went over Friday afternoon solo, while the family took the flier (too bumpy for them).
Wanted to get out there Saturday morning, but no crew..., but heard it went WFO for the fleet... Congrats..
I thought I had rounded up crew for a Sunday morning run, but they went back to their boat and disappeared for the night.... Oh well, maybe we hosted too good of a Barbaque that night...
Still wanting to head out there and not steer through a bunch of moorings and floating dinghies from inside Avalon in the dark, I loaded some gear in the 13' Whaler at O-dark thirty and ran to the backside through a rain squall or two and found the fleet at their usual hangouts...
Met up with John King just in time to snap a pic of a gal on his charter (Mojo) pulling in a nice #30+ WSB. He passed me some fresh squirts to go with the fresh dead I had and off I went to try my luck...
Witnessed a few others coming over the rail, but unfortunately for me..., current and wind was moving me a bit too fast and my 100' anchor on that little whaler was just a wee bit short for the 102' I was fishing in...
Anyway..., the fishing wasn't quite as wide open as the day before, but the fleet was having luck on both the WSB and YT Sunday.
The upside was any day fishing was a good day and I got to see a few good friends out on the water..., and better yet..., heading out this Thursday for a 'real' shot...
Cheers, Bill
