It's been a long time since I fished out of Dana Point and I'm thinking of launching out of there tomorrow. What are the hours for the bait receiver and how's there bait been lately. Years ago the hours and bait were both pretty lousy.

Try and avoid the time periods when the cattle boats bait up, or you will be in for a long delay. If I had to guess I'd say 5:30am-6am.

They have been open 24/7. If I were going on a weekend I'd try to have the boat in the water at 5 am.

FYI: the dorado have shown a definate preference for the mini macks. You can catch all you want 1 mi 180 degrees out of the harbor at the barber poles. Take a little catfood for chum.
