Been awhile since I've posted here - how's everyone doin'?

I plan on drifting for some halibut off La Jolla next week, and was wondering what is the general water depth they are being found at this time of year?

Thanks for any suggestions!

Welcome back from wherever you've been Randy.
4 day Grunion run just finished yesterday.

I'd suspect they are shallower than usual.
And if you know areas down there where they may congregate to spawn in the Spring . .
It wouldn't surprise me if they are in these areas now again.
They'll spawn throughout the year.
I'd start in the standard depths and move around.
Start at 65 down to 50 feet, and go from there.
Well unless you're inside Sandy Eggo or Mission Bay, then different.
They'd be just off any high spots IMO.

Thanks, John! Been around, just not here.

I got a big hook-up last week in about 40', but lost him when the hook pulled. Not enough finesse on my part.

OK on the 65-50' - I'll give that zone a good try.
