Has anyone come across a web site showing real time current information, such as flow direction, temperature at specific bouys or points, etc?

Here's the best I've found. Updated hourly. I think it's not cost effective to continually stream data from all the buoys via satellite to get real-time data, at least for the public sector.

Click on the buoy number to get the data.

I have a bunch of data site summarized here:

That's good information, and better than I had previously. However, does anyone have any link to real time current information, such as flow direction?

Current information is more complicated than the buoys can provide but you can usually guess direction by the time interval in the swell information. 4 ft waves at 4 seconds means uphill. Longer duration indicates downhill. http://sdcoos.ucsd.edu/index.cfm this web site has specific real time current data but is out of Ventura area. If you look at buoy data and use the java enabled version one can toggle from buoy to buoy and get an idea of water direction. We get lots of uphill tide around Conception and Ventura area. Sometime the Coamps satellite radar data will have something but looking that stuff up is time consuming. http://facs.scripps.edu/surf/buoylist.html this is a compiled buoy list that now{about 2030} indicates a lot of uphill with a couple of exceptions. Hope this info helps.

That first link http://sdcoos.ucsd.edu/index.cfm is very cool. I plan to spend some time on that one.

Thanks for sharing the info - very much appreciated.
