We will be heading out tommorow on the new boat a '21 ft Striper, out of huntington harbor in the am. We are planning on staying local since it will be the first time out in the boat. Planning on proably doing some halibut drifts any good areas to try ? How has is been at the horsehoe ?

inside LA Harbor can be productive for halibut. we like to try in tight to Chaffee island along the side the faces toward alimitos harbor, and along the beach facing side as well. on the side that faces alimitos we fish it TIGHT. close enough to cast to it. the rocks come out about 10 yards or so, maybe 20 at the most and then it turns to sand. can be a good area.
