i am going fishing this friday with my granddaughters can anyone tell me the general location of the bonito bite that has been going on out at the the horseshoe ? i plan on launching out of cabrillo

I was just out there yesterday...I ran into a great school north and west of MDR by about 3-4 miles in 300 ft of water...pretty much all the bonito you would ever want to see. Take your binoculars and look for the giant mass of birds chasing the school.

Dont buy bait (its to big for the bones)... Just grab some rapalas and a few crocs..

About a mile and change outside Angels gate the water temp goes from 66 to 71 and from green to blue... Troll the rapalas at about 4 -5 mph on the blue side, but right along the temp break. .... Everyone else should be outside of you on the kelp.. Keep an eye out for boils... When they are boiling pulll in the rapalas and run to the boil. Kill the engine before you spook them, and cast the spoons to them.. "Instant Hookup"
