Without divulging any specific spots, is the LA Harbor, Long Beach Harbor area any good for hooping/lobsters? Areas such as the Federal Breakwater, jetty's, rock islands, rock piles, etc.

What can I expect (shorts, none, ??).

Or, other nearby inshore areas near Huntington Harbor, without having to make the run to Catalina. Any advice would be appreciated.

thanks for help,

I've seen quite a few traps near the breakwater, if that means anything. One time I tried the breakwaters, no luck. Always gone to Cat for the bugs.

All the places you named holds lobster but just like fishing you have to put your time on the water and try different spots.

Just keep trying different areas and rocks and mark them if they produce. If a spot produces once it will produce again in the future but you have to keep checking the spot to see when the lobsters come back or decide to crawl again.

Early season at the islands has produced, same with the breakwaters, but I think it gets fished out quickly.
