Going to try hooping for the 1st time. I know I asked before, but what the deal on cleaning lobster? Or whats the best way to keep them fresh and transport them home?

You have to keep them intact till you get home I think. I leave them in my bait tank with no water or an ice chest, then I freeze them whole, if you don't have room to do that cut the tails off by slicing between body & tail bag them up. be carefull not to let spikes go thru bag.If you get a large bug eat the legs best part (IMO) where are you going to hoop ?

Thanks for the info. Going to try out of Dana Point. Not sure exactly where. Going to arrive down there at 0300, hoop, then fish.

Personally, I never freeze a Lobster whole.
I always vacuum pack the tails too.
