Last Friday I went to St John's hospital in Oxnard for an angiogram. They found 90% blockage to the renal artery that supplies blood to the kidneys. I've been suffering reduced function in the kidneys. They were able to clear and stint the damage but they found two more arteries in the heart that need to be treated with angioplasty, 90% blockage on one and 60% on the other. They can not do them all at the same time because the iodine they use in the procedure damages the kidneys further.

So, I'm going back probably Tuesday for another angioplasty then again in another week or two for hopefully the last one.

Additionally, they found I have an arrhythmia that was partially addressed Friday but will take long term medication. I had an aortic insufficiency (leaky heart Valve) for decades that hasn't progressed to a operative level.

The weird thing is I don't feel bad at all except I get tired easily and occasional slight chest pain in the past.

Prayers on the way Frank....glad to hear you are addressing these issues now. You'll be back on the water in no time! Probably just in time for the hot WSB bite! Take care and if there is anything you need, let us know. Can't wait to buddy boat with you again.

Frank very glad to hear it was found before kidney failure, or heart failure got started. I hope your next procedure goes smoothly (no pun intended) Its concerning how this can be going on with little warning, and the blessing is its now being addressed. You take it easy up there and look forward to your speedy recovery.

Really sorry to hear this Frank. Like everyone else has said, good thing you caught it.
I have been putting off a treadmill stress test. No I will get it done as soon as I get back from the Owens Valley. Leaving Sunday. I am also getting winded where I don't think I should.
I will be back around next Friday. Let me know if you need help with anything.

Praywers en route Frankie. Be glad you living in the days when such pulmonary issues are easily corrected like indoor plumbing. It is amazing the stuff medical science enables doctors to do routinely now. No worries buddy! Got God watching over you and your medical team. :)

Dude, take care of yourself. Cardio problems run in my family. This past October, I lost one of my brothers to a massive heart attach. He was 60 and was playing golf. I am told that he was on the 10th hole and was even par through 9 so it is clear he didn't feel it coming. I lost my dad at age 64. He was here one day and then gone.

I don't say any of this to unnecessarily scare you but to urge you to take care of yourself. My brother drank way more alcohol than he should and was smoking cigars. Both NO NO's,. I weigh more than I should but don't smoke or drink. I exercise, but not like I should. Maybe I am talking to myself while urging you to better health. Dude, I will be saying a prayer for you in the coming weeks.

You have my best wishes.

I'm assuming that you have access to good quality med care out there in the cosmopolitan Socal area, so I thinking that the docs will fix you up.

Just wanna say one thing. A positive attitude (no matter how difficult it is to keep) really helps! Think positive. Believe that you will get well and be fine. Combined with quality medical care, the combo will get you right.

(I speak with some experience. It's hard, but you CAN do it.)

Best wishes.....you ARE gonna be great.

Hang in there Frank. My father went through the same thing many yrs ago and made out fine, you'll do the same. The important thing here is that they caught it in time. Prayers coming your way buddy.
