They are back in operation off the pier! :tu: I have great memories of either fishing both half days or just the PM when I slept in... @( LOL

Its great to see they are back in action! Anyone else here that used to fish the Aquarios back in the early 90's?? Those were good times!

Yep! Great location to go fishing from. I have fished the Aquarius since the mid 50's when it was named the Gee Bee.

Gave up fishing the Aquarius very quickly when I figured out that no matter how far in advance I would make a reservation there was never a "stern spot" available........always blocked for the "in crowd".

Funny thing is when I was working at Turner's the owner or manager of Malibu Sportfishing came in and during the course of conversation he asked me why I didn't fish there? I told him it was because I could never get a stern spot no matter how far in advance I made the reservation and that I found that rather strange. He said that was incorrect. So while he was standing there I called Malibu's office and asked for a reso for the following week and asked for a stern spot. Sorry none available. Well how about in two weeks? Same answer. How about a month from now? Sorry none available.
I'll take any day of the week. Sorry none available. How about six months from now.....well you get the idea. Needless to say the manager guy was embarrassed and I never did fish there again. But as I recall he did do some nice leather work.

Maybe it will be different now. Maybe not.

It took me a month or so of fishing every weekend to get on the stern. I do agree you had to be part of the club back in the day to get on the stern!
