And the lesson is: Never let feeble minded old men fire your weapon. :p
When are we going shooting Bruce? Thurs or Friday eve is good for me. I am also going on the afternoon 1/2 day boat out of Dana this weekend if you would like to join me. Taking the little one out for another trip.

I have the original TC with a 30-30 barrel. I would like to get a .223 barrel next

Was the youtube gun a .600 big game round? That video is nutz [email protected]
I've seen that one many times.

If I've been told correctly it was a TC Contender with a barrel chambered in .600 Nitro Express that was made as a display piece only...............until they decided to actually fire it. 8*

I've also shot one like yours with the .30-30 barrel that belongs to one of my shooting/hunting buddies. The recoil wasn't unmanagable but the grip shape/style put most of the pressure down low on the thumb and after about 3 rounds that started to get a little uncomfortable.

He also has a .410 barrel for it with screw in chokes. We've actually shot clay birds with that one! 8)

I would of liked to see the laceration/contusion on thats guys' noggin. Looks to me like it bounced off his face/forehead after the discharge. He was clueless and obviously not the ideal spokesperson for our right to bear arms. Hopefully Michael Moore doesn't get a hold of that clip.

I was once handed a Desert Eagle and told to "go try this." The only reason I fired rounds two and three was because I knew that there were a dozen guys behind me watching. The first round's concussion went through my sinuses and made me think, for a second or two, that I had let the slide catch my nose.
I removed the rest of the clip and never touched the gun again. My 9 mm will do me just fine, thank you very much.
That .600 is silly. Why make a gun you really can't use?

Shooting big bores is a fun release for me and the bigger, the better. At my gun club I am one of the few members who fires a pistol on the rifle lane. The loudest crack guaranteed to turn heads, fills the range with smoke and shoots a 10" blue flame out the muzzle. Set the target on the back wall and go to town. What's not to love? Paper killers like me do it for the recreation, the release and the sheer pleasure of controlling the biggun. Childish? Maybe. I don't care, I enjoy it. I would love to fire this flying gun, if only to see if I can control it. 8* Why some guys place the target less than 50' downrange is beyond me. The point of practice is to become more proficient. Learn to shoot at a decent distance and I'm bettin' you'll be able to hit something a few paces right in front of you too. ;) Anyone else going to the gun show at OC Fairgrounds this weekend? I need some more 45-70 shells.

I have a Desert Eagle and love the gun. Does it kick a little, hell yes. I have no problem with controlling my gun. I usually shoot on the rifle lanes because most ranges won't let you shoot that caliber on the pistol range, or they require you to use soft rounds that dirty my gun after 50 rds. After I take my first shot at any range, pretty much everyone stops to see what kind of canon I am firing. As for a 9mm, feels too light after shooting the Desert Eagle. Might as well shoot a bb gun.

Why shoot at a target less than fifty feet out? Depends on what you are trying to become proficient for. Bringing down an elk at several thousand feet or defending yourself in a dire situation are two different things. For the latter I would practice close range (ten to twenty feet) under stress.
