Fished Dana yesterday and landed one Mr. T going 150lb to 160lb in the early afternoon. A few boats were bit in the morning but it looked like afternoon was better. We got ours on a large Red and Yellow ballyhood with mac. The unbelievable part of the day was the 25 ft foot whale that followed us for about 4 hours. It did not matter which way I turned, this fish would stay within 5-20 ft of our boat and play by going under the bow for hours. We could not shake the whale and even tried handing it off to other boats but it kept coming back. We also learned how bad a whales breath is by being that close. I kept accusing my partner of dropping a load in his shorts.

I heard you on the radio describing the whale and it's breath. I've never heard of a whale following a boat before. Very strange indeed.

Congrats on the T.
It was pretty crazy. I've slid up to them before while they were in close but never had one act like this. I know many heard us out there and one boat came back an hour or so latter and said they were passing us and saw the whale playing with us. We didn't get bit until after the whale moved on and the sharks probably didn't like the whale either. Your dad looks pretty proud of that fish. Congratulations as well.
