north O.C Corbina report for 5-11,12,13 and 14th. they're here and biting

Been fishing corbs at a nice little spot in O.C. The spot known as the "X" spot is/was loaded with tanker corbina for the past 4 days. Went 13 for 16 (17" to 24" fish)on 4# test and a 10' custom Shikari noodle rod rated 2 to 10lb and a 1500 Shimano Sedona. Sight fishing for them with SC for bait on a #6 red Owner Mosquito hook. Fish sizes where as follows: 17", 18", 22", 22", 22", 23", 23", 23", 23 1/2", 24", 24", 24", 24". All of them where C&R'd. Got pics of all 13, will post them later, Oh man what an epic 4 days of corbina fishing, They're here!!!!! , Behdad

Epic corbina fishing to say the least !!!! How wide open did it get at times ?? Here's a pic of a double going. 24"er on the rod in my left hand left and a 22"er on the right in my right hand. 24" was caught on 2# by a guy I just met named James. South bay angler.

Anyway, they here !!!!!

Excellent run of 24"ers, Behdad. You're the man and you're on the Corbina Leaderboard. Are we going to see a 25"er this year?

Behdad, did you catch your sand crabs on site or were they imported? Were the fish targeting a certain size crab? Were the crabs sporting roe?

SteveT, the Shikari blanks are getting harder to find as Shikari was sold. I scored a bunch of 8'-6" to 10' steelhead and flyrod blanks but I'm not selling just the blanks. Going to be wrapping/selling my own UL surf rods. They're going to run from $150 to $175 and will look just like the one in the pics. Should have some comming out in a week or two.

Dem, cought the SC's at a different beach. Corbs where hitting any decent size SC. Yes the SC's I hand picked all have the orange roe.

Pretty sure I know the spot. The double-hookup shot gives it away.

Yeah the crabs and the big beans are here. They are crusing the skinny all over the surf now as well, especially close-in troughs.
