Dear Friends and Fellow Anglers,

It has recently been brought to our attention by members of the
fishing community that some of our Lobster Gauges, item #AC-310,
are measuring short by 1/16â??-1/32". Although we are certain that
there are only a minimal amount of gauges in circulation with this
inaccuracy, we must take full responsibility of this error and
understand this issue must be addressed immediately and resolved
in a timely manner.

If in fact you have previously purchased a gauge which is inaccurate,
please discontinue use of this product and return it immediately to
the store where it was purchased from for exchange. You may also
contact Promar for instructions on returning defective gauges directly.
Please contact Customer Service at (310) 222-8638 for more information.

Our company firmly believes in abiding by all Fish and Game
Regulations and protecting and conserving our natural resources.
We deeply apologize for any inconveniences this recall may cause
to you and we appreciate all your support.

Thank you,

Interesting! Where were they when I got cited for a short lobster useing one of their gauges? I placed a poilte call informing them of the gauge and it's inaccuracy and got no response?
After, I went to my favorite tackle store and measured what they had on hand finding they were all short as well. I then went around town and bought 6 gauges from each tackle store I visted, measuring them and finding each one was inaccurate as well? Then going to court with approx 24 gauges in hand, arguing my case to the judge and eventually winning the case based on the short gauges being sold by a company that deals in lobster and crab gear.
After that I mailed all of the gauges to promar with a polite letter and again got no response?
Sorry Promar, your a day late and a dollar short and no longer have my bussiness or many of my friends to boot.

Hello Ed,

I just read your post and I am very concerned to hear that you didnt get a response from our company. Was it a phone call or Email? Can you please let me know who you spoke with at Promar and when you sent the gauges to our office? As far as I know our returns department has never received any gauges from an Ed Gould. If you could please let us know when you sent them and a tracking number from FedEx, UPS, or USPS, so that we can atleast provide a refund or exchange.

I would like to try and help as much as I can, after hearing this story. Feel free to PM Me.

Thanks,

Ben

In your post above you state "approx 24 gauges in hand".
You posted on 11/3.

Then in this post you made on 10/30 just 5 days earlier you stated it was 18 gauges.

Here's your exact words in the post.

I measured them and they were all

It was 3 years ago John but i do agree with your observations and have taken note in the differnet numbers stated. Now you can all refer to me as "Jack--s" LOL as I feel like one.
18, 24, 6, 3, 90 whatever the number was? Point is it was alot of inaccurate gauges. Two handfulls.
Ben, As stated above it was 3 seasons ago and I do not recall with whom I spoke with? As for the package I have no record of it. It was sent via USPS.
Bygones Ben. No worries!
