Replacing Duoprop Prop shaft seal?

Update: $800 later. I hate outdrives. Shaft had to be replaced. --------------- I have outdrive oil leaking out between my props. I also noticed a nice 1/4 line that got tangled in there. Could it be anything other than the propshaft seals? Is this a DIY project to replace these? I don't have the manual handy. I don't know if I need special tools or not and am trying to determine now if it is a diy fix. Thanks Andrew

NO, you will need special tools and eyes for inspection of the seal area. A pump to test case pressure to make sure there are no other leaks. If the props come off easy than your way ahead of the game. This is not a job you want to do without watching and seeing how it is done..... very expensive shaft to replace it you bend it , by pulling it out wrong.

Thanks.

I'll check if Eric at Specialty Marine up here can do it.
I don't think you are local to Oxnard.
