It is all my fault:\ First I bought a bunch of reels, rods and tackle for deep water rock cod fishing. Guess what happened before I could even wet a line. Deep rock cod fishing was eliminated. Second I bought several reels, rods and tackle for salmon fishing. Yep before I could catch just one salmon. They closed salmon fishing. Now I am gathering gear for albacore & yellowtail fishing. I heard they already put a limit on albacore. As soon as I buy a Accurate reel. They are sure to close albacore fishing.

themacs,
What you hear is true. Probably not as much press down south since there isn't much salmon fishing, but up here (bay area) its been big news even since last year whent they threatened to close it down. Well, after several months of debate it was finally decided to close it all down this year. I think the river guys are going to get one month of fishing, but thats it. Unfortunately, I don't think the closure will be enough. Hopefully, they'll work on the other factos that have an influence on their numbers. I guess only time will tell.
