I am going out Sunday morning in search of some bass activity. The only Sand Bass fishing I did last year was just south of the Domes. Should I head south out of Dana Harbor or go elsewhere? I read the information on Reel Time and it was not too specific. The other posts on here were talking north? The kids and I would appreciate any suggestions you would like to share...

Thanks.

I would see how the Dana Pride did today. They were down south about 4 miles past the Domes. If they did well today Thats where I would head. Otherwise the flats have been producing near Huntington.

We fished out from the Domes today (Saturday) and the water conditions were not good; mixed swell with 15 knot wind. We were targeting sharks, but conditions were such that we could not get a good drift or troll; hard to fight a good size T-shark or mako when the boat is rolling in the swells.

Hopefully it settles down on Sunday for you.

Check out the 9 fathom curve Chris.

It runs from just in front of the Newport Pier all the way up to EVA & EMMY (oil platforms).
There have been Sand Bass throughout the whole area.
The fish are moving around daily.
Click the link I provided above.
Then change the coordinates in the bottom left hand corner to DM.MM.
Move your mouse along the 9 fathom curve to get the numbers you want.
You'll see them chan as you move your mouse around.
Start looking in the 70 foot depth.
You'll see structure marks on the map.

Good Luck!

Great advice on checking the numbers for the Dana Pride (39 anglers and 38 bass). Looks like the weather, water temp, and claity have taken a toll on the bite for a few days. I might save my Sunday "chit" for another day when the fish are on the chew. I might just join the wife and daughter for a little sunday service and lunch.

Thanks for the link to the map service. I am trying to find a few that I can navigate and get some basic information from. I'll have to look at this one and see how it works.

When I start getting out more I will start posting my reports more regularly. Right now I am a weekend warrior only (work).

Thanks.

Chris
