I am going out of Port Hueneme on Sunday. We are targeting SWR. I would like to use plastics. Any guidance as to what plastics to use would be greatly appreciated.

Also, I have never caught whitefish (poor-man's yellowtail) on plastics. Any success stories in this regard would also be much appreciated.

use the powerbait white grubs.

while on a two day we stopped on a rock pile to fill some down time....we used bower bait grubs that looked like the ones pictured in this link.....they were about 1 to 1.5" long....we used dropper rigs, and just hooked the grub onto the a 2/0 hook. Worked pretty good for the rock fish, salmon grouper, and other smaller bottom dwellers

Edit: It was GULP bait, not power bait.
