Well we lost our second welder in 2 weeks.....

He called this morning with flash burn....

So we thought we'd fabricate the fuel tanks.....

Sheets cut and ready to go in the break...

Here's a break....who knew...I'd never used one before....:)

Can anyone see what we did wrong.....some of you are holding you sides right now.....

It was brutal we had to take the break apart....

We overcame and c.....

Cut and trim, no welding or tacking we need all the plumbing fixtures and baffle to prevent the sloshing effect....

Two tanks that will fill one complete compartment and give us 430 gallons.....

I left Alex welding this afternoon....

We hope to flip her over this coming week...

We'll be at the show on Wednesday hope to see a lot of you ther...:)

RE: She's under construction PART 5... Fuel Tanks....

Fascinating!!!! You have to do a full scrapbook with notes, pix etc. on the building of this boat.

Great pictures...Having worked in a Sheetmetal shop for 29 years I can't believe you got that metal broken up in a pan brake...It looks like 1/4 inch aluminum to me,quite an accomplishment..Did you spring the brake and have to take it apart or was it the angle that forced that..It looks like you guys are doing a great job with the equiptment you have..And Flash Burn..Ouch...I hate to even think about those..!!

Scott,

There is some stuff going on thats confusing....

Volvo has a 350hp D6 with an outdrive.

They also have a 370hp and in August are rumored to release a new computer chip that will enhance the 370 to a 435hp motor...

Problem is that there are no outdrives for these motors....!!!!

Does anyone have any further insight...

Check out the bend on the back side of the brake. No way that sheet is coming out without a tear down. I think everybody does this at least once.

Sounds like a fun project. I'm looking forward to getting tubing stuck in the bender.

Many moons ago in College, I was an electrician and a mean conduit bender. But the mistakes.... Geeeeeez! How many times can someone do a 90 degree bend and then do an offset in the WRONG direction?
