Wow what a day today.......

We spent what was left of last weekend due to the show to try and polish out the keel, there were marks from welding splatter that happens when you MIG weld, also the bottom sheets had reacted badly to rain water when it got between the sheets....

All elbow grease...a reel biatch. I've since talked with Jim Day and got the real scoop....

We arrived today and Bruce revealed the secret weapon....

She can lift 12,000lb, battery needed charging though....

Moved the bench out of the way.....

Alex fabric a quick piece and welded it to the transom.....

Front end with special jig made for this exact job....

Positioning both pieces of equipment, at one point Alex drove the forklift and Bruce the crane so we could reposition after we turned her..

Hanging in mid air as all supports have been removed...

She's starting to roll...........

Bruce checking straps and ......

Front veiw.....

Side veiw...

Just about to go....

Rollin, rollin, rollin......

The strap got caught as she went over, it may have been a good thing....

Nearly 3000lbs of Aluminum in mid air....

Right side up....just hanging

Blocking...

Blocked....

Well another day over.....

The cool thing is that Dave was filming the whole thing on his camera, you won't believe it when you see the footage, its awesome...

I'm working on that, it will be late this week....:)

Freddie,

The tip was using 3M's Scotch Brite SL system, he wrote a post about it a while back under "Polishing Aluminum"....
