Usually, I catch my own fin bait off of Manhattan Beach and then decide to go one of 3 directions. Today, I got no love in all 3 directions and to add insult, I couldn't even catch my fin bait.

If someone had a decent day today, I would sure like to know what you got and where.

I think that the recent bad weather and Runoff,as well as lower Temps. has shut the Bite off for awhile......

Your day is almost always the case along the mainland coast after rains, especially with the minimal tidal movement you had. Catalina on the outside was spectacular on Saturday and pretty darn good on Sunday for croaker and big tails despite the crowds for the gray and morning turn of tide bites. So the lesson is to go to islands when you again encounter similar conditions if want the chance for a decent day of fishing.

Thanks for comments... Believe me, I prefer posting good reports.

I get out about 3 times a week and have been trying to stay as close to King Harbor as I can so as not to burn too much fuel.

Although my boat is an efficient 2 miles per gallon at cruise speed, a round trip run to the island costs me about $125. I cross the channel only a couple of times per month. However, you are right, Sunday, May 25th should have been one of those times!

Fished the bay with two of my kids on Sunday for one blue shark and one mako right around 100lbs. Kids had a ball. Banged a bunck of rock on Monday for an assortment of calicos, sandbass, sheephead, blacksmith and a tree fish all and all another great 1/2 day of fishing with about 50 fish in total and off the water by noon to go to a BBQ with fresh mako steaks.

Hey Russ, I think I saw you over around (Horseshoe) the point about 11:00am.
I got a nice Sandy right there about 5 lbs. Than ran over in front of hermosa about 1:00 and got a 4 lb calico. Nice boat you got there.
