No, it actually breaks closer to its rated strength than mono.

What is the advantage over straight mono?

Well duh--straignt mono dates only other mono, but spectra will attach itself to both mono and spectra, and therefore has double the chances of getting a date on Saturday night.

CHANEL LOCKS- great grip- buy the pointed ones for getting the pieces of your tooth that cracked or the roots that sometimes get stuck down deep!
