I was checking these out recently. They are heavier due their larger width and profile than say, a Kicker 25 or a Tady 45 even though they are of a light alloy too. I assume they run a bit deeper and maybe don't zig-zag as much as the others mentioned, correct? If they have different actions than other jigs, under what conditons do you fish them and how. Thanks.

I think the bait is called Candybar

They are a solid jig for use on bull calicos, yellows, and of course cuda. Often when fishing the kelp (backing down on anchor) you can cast parallel to the kelp, let the jig sink out for 10-15 seconds and slow wind back. By far the best colors for this are scrambeled egg, chartruse, or wounded soldier.

Another technique that would favor very light jigs such as the Tady 45 or single-hook Tady C, is to cast the jig over patches of the kelp and skip-jig it back. Kinda like saltwater frog fishing.

Since no one's chiming in I'll give you my limited experience. I have one I tried and I didn't like the way it swam much. It tends to roll. However I've only tried this one. I think garhunter/jose had posted once that he liked them and the one time we ended up on the boat together I think he fished them with some success. I've been planning to retie it on and give it another shot.

But, they do look different from the candybars that I've seen, but I'm no old salt so I don't know. They look longer, thinner, and flatter, and don't have sharp hip angles. Let us know how you like them if you try 'em!
