Can anyone give me any info. on estimated travel time from S.D. to Cedros. We`re pulling a 23 ft. Wellcraft C.C. Also, are there any good places to stay while we are there ?

Thanks for your help.

Rich, I can give you [email protected] for info....bur I wish you the best of times!
Sounds like a great adventure.
Still looking forward to the day when I can get to see you up in Idaho...had another wonderful trip up there this Christmas....and I'm sure you know Baldy got hammered the last few days!
I'll be up for a while this winter....for a few days in February and two weeks in March...but I'd love to hook up this summer and check out the laker fishing....and the great country north of Priest. Damn beautiful state.

I did it 10 years ago 1 day sun upto sun down from Ensenada to Gierro ***** (Spelling) I think you can put in there but no gas. Cedros is just outside.

The mileage from the border to Catavina is almost exactly 300 miles. There is an excellent hotel (La Pinta) there for about $75, or a great overnight, safe, campground just south and east (about 1/2 mile) of the hotel at Santa Inez ($5.00). Make sure to fill up with gas at El Rosario as Catavina seldom has it.

Guerro ***** is about another 150 miles south of Catavina. The Malaremo Motel is a great place to stay with one of Baja's best restaurants. Rooms are $45...meals cheap and outstanding.

The road is in excellent condition... but narrow and very dangerous at high speeds. Can't help on the boat launching question.

Hey Dave, Don, and Jimbo

Thank you.

Dave.....Yer just a ski bum, so it`s ok if you don`t know jack :p
And ...yes we should get together for a little skiing, and trout fishin. You know, you can do both in the winter. The Laker fishin is allways good, and we even get snow once in a while. Right now it`s 40 degrees and I have a lake in my yard that the whitetail bucks have to wade through to get to the grub that I put out for them.

Don, and Jimbo, thanks for the info. I don`t get to go but my buddy Leo, and his two boys, and Jeff that used to work on the R.P. went.
They took Leos 23 1/2 ft. Wellcraft C.C.
I just spoke to Leos` wife, she talked to them last night. Said that the fishin is excellent. They`ll be back Monday, or Tuesday. I`ll get the details then.

Fishrich

The big mule deer bucks in my back yard could spit your's out in little pieces.

Isn't it great to have such great things in one's yard?
RE: Towing a boat to Cerdros from S.D.

Hey Rich,

It looks like the one in the foreground might have been grazed by a really bad shot.

Hey Chris,

Actually the buck in the foreground is a total ass hole. He`s allways fighting with the other bucks..I have 13 different bucks in the yard every night. He fights with all of them, and runs the does off as well. So the other night he got his ass kicked by this new Gorilla that showed up, and to make matters worse he got his head stuck in my feeder box. I had to go out and help him get out, and I thought he was going to go after me too. Thank god he didn`t.

Here he is stuck on his back.

And here`s the gorilla that whupped him. I think that`s how he got that cut on his back...they really go at it hard.

Hi Jimbo,

Yes it is wonderful, it`s a gift that I am thankful for everyday.
I never tire of seeing them.
RE: Towing a boat to Cerdros from S.D.

Yeah,

Like the Nuge says........." Kill em n grill em "

I never buy beef, I`ve got deer, and elk venison to the top of my freezer and it`s better than anything you can ever buy in the store.
With that and fresh lakers, and Yellowfin Tuna, Yellowtail, and Wahoo in the freezer too I`m sittin pretty good.
RE: Towing a boat to Cerdros from S.D.

I'd say you're sitting pretty good too. I wish my freezer was half full with any of that. I thought the same thing about that buck. Someone needs a shooting lesson. I was surprised that it may have come from a fight. They do really go at it but I didn't they did much more than break a tine or lose some fur.

Thanks

Mike

Hi Hithard,

Out of 13 bucks that visit daily 4 of them have lost an eye. Last week I watched a large 4 x 4 loose his right eye while sparring with a lesser buck only to see him back the next night going at it again with a different opponent. The buck that has the wound on his side was knocked to the ground by the aggressors antlers and was being shoved very violently. Sometimes I`m amazed that they don`t kill each other more often than they do. It does happen !!!
