Like most of you I will be taking advantage of theis weather break to make my first Catalina trip this weekend.

What is the view of the group as where to find squid Fri. night. I think the back side must be pretty torn up from the big swell and wind Tues. and Wed.

On the front side, what about Hen Rock or Empire???

The sport boats know but they won't arrive until after midnight and I'd sure like to be done by then.

Pitch in......

I was there last Friday night and found some good squidding in the Hen Rock area. We got there late and had some problems with my generator, but we were able to use the spreader lights to gather them and then we were able to net about 1 1/2 scoops. Some boats had full-on floats when we arrived. Found some pretty shallow, say 60-70 feet. Hopefully they're still in the same area. Hope that helps.
